Courage to reinvent self!
Courage to reinvent self!
In the Shiv Puran, Sati chose to marry Lord Shiva despite her father Daksha’s strong disapproval. When her father publicly insulted Shiva, Sati faced a difficult choice: stay silent and keep the peace, or stand firmly for her truth. She chose to stand, immolating herself to break free from a world that no longer respected her values. This was not the end but a transformation, that too a courageous one. Sati was later reborn as Parvati, stronger, wiser, and deeply aligned with her purpose. She reinvented herself by letting go of her past version and embracing her new authentic self.
Leadership often demands this same courage — the willingness to release old roles, beliefs or other limitations that hold us back, and to lead from a place of authenticity and conviction. Like Sati, leaders must sometimes face difficult truths and let go to reinvent themselves. It’s through this process that true transformation begins.
A couple of reflection questions for the leaders:
- Where in your leadership journey are you being called to choose truth over acceptance?
- What part of your current leadership story needs to end so that a newer, stronger and better version of you can rise?
